9-11 Guided tour of Bologna’s city centre: ancient monuments and urban flora

In the Middle Ages, Bologna was famous for the numerous towers that gave it a unique and spectacular appearance. A guided tour of about 1 ½ hours will take participants to visit the towers, ancient city walls, and monuments that remained after the city was modernized at the beginning of the 1900s. In addition to these historical aspects, various urban flora habitats (streets, monuments, buildings) will be pointed out. The tour will include the historical locations of the Botanical Garden, such as the one that Ulisse Aldrovandi selected in 1568, and a short visit to the present-day one in via Irnerio.
