International Award for the Best PhD Thesis

The prize will be awarded for a PhD thesis discussed in the three-year period 2019-2021 on topics related to General Botany, Systematic Botany, Environmental and Applied Botany and Pharmaceutical Botany. Will the prize be awarded after evaluation by the Commission and will the winner be announced by the President of the Italian Botanical Society during the Shareholders' Meeting of the 117th Congress of Bologna.
The thesis must be submitted (by S.B.I. members or non-members) via e-mail (sbi@unifi.it) to the Secretariat of the Italian Botanical Society before May 31th, 2022.
The prize consists in free registration to the 117th Congress, a contribution to travel expenses (up to € 200.00), free accomodation, lunches and congress dinner as well as a one-year membership to the Italian Botanical Society. Candidates should NOT pay the registration fee for the Congress until the outcome of the evaluation process is known. Non-winners can then decide whether or not to register.
